High Quality Car Photography
On Location

About 40 years ago I was commissioned to create exclusive car shots in the studio for "Rothändle". At that time the "Zumbrunn style" was created for photographs of classic cars, which I have only refined a little until today.

My photographic intention is to focus entirely on the design of the car, without any effects in the background – i.e. a neutral dark background and an asphalt-like ground. With my balanced lighting, the object is optimally illuminated down to the last detail, without any distraction from the artistic design. But it also requires the eye to find the ideal perspective, at the right camera height. This is how unique documents are created for collectors.

Especially the classic cars of the 30s, 40s and 50s from Italy, France and England are works of art which must be preserved and should be documented timelessly. These cars belong to the cultural assets of the 20th century.

Over all these years I have been able to realize more than 700 studio productions – always in the studio, which I was able to build up on location all over Europe and as far as California. Even once at Pininfarina in Turin, where I had put a restored Maserati A6G from 1954 in the best light, I received a compliment from Giorgio Pininfarina: he had never seen his Maserati so noble.
